Not at all interested in the game, but it is interesting to see an "adult" game like Manhunt coming to the wii - could mean good things for any GTA-esque titles, or even a GTA variant (I don't expect them to put GTA4 out on it tbh)

The first one creeped the Hell out of me (naked guy in a pig mask emot-gonk.gif)... i'd be interested in how this turns out with the shard of glass/plastic bag etc mechanic applied to the WiiMote and Nunchuk.

I can almost hear Thompson putting on his ambulance-chasing shoes if he isn't unemployed/missing (¬_¬) by the time this hits shops.

Last one was a terrible game imo.
It's great that the Wii is getting a game like this, but I think I'll hold off for Umbrella Chronicles for my fix of "adult" gaming, thanks...

The original was fun at first but then you were just pigeon holed into the same tactics each time. Loved it for a few hours then put it aside never to be played again.

    I agree with flogen
This could pave way for some more big name 3rd party companies to make single player in depth games instead of just multiplayer games

I think this can only be good for nintendo, THe only thing is , im not sure if rockstar will have the stones to go teh full way and make the killing motions very violent.

heres the teaser trailer, although there is no in game footage

If there's one thing Rockstar have, it's the stones to make it as controversial as possible. They know well that there's no such thing as bad publicity.
Hopefully, both this and The Godfather: Blackhand will pave the way for a more mature games on the Wii.

great that this type of game is coming to the Wii, but pitty it's this game. The first was a horrible failure of a title imo. The stealth mechanics of it were just terrible, and the AI of the enemy was a joke. ALL it had going for it were the violent kills, and they got boring after a few minutes.

Pick up your wiimote and ponder ways to kill people with it

Imo its a controversy Rockstar want, i mean you possibly going to be able to cut peoples throats using the wii mote in a throat slashing manner.

TBH I found the first one soooo boring ... same thing over and over and over again. The game play was boring, the levels were boring, the graphics were boring, even Brian Cox was boring ... I gave up after about 3 days of causal play, haven't gone back.

Anyway, interesting news if this is true. I wonder if Nintendo will give Rockstar a license for this or not. Considering that they have always had issues with violence and blood on their consoles I'm doubtful. I wonder if Rockstar are just trying to drum up the Daily Mail readers with the idea of using the Wii-mote to bash someones head in .. all in 480p glory :D

    New Info:

The first razor sharp shards of info on Rockstar's recently announced PS2, PSP and Wii murder mosh, Manhunt 2, have been unsheathed in the latest issue of the UK's Official PlayStation Magazine. And the descriptions of some of the game's bound-for-infamy kills make for pretty gruesome reading.

The harshest syringe kill, for example, involves Daniel Lamb, Manhunt 2 's chief murderiser, kicking an enemy to the ground and stomping on him before thrusting the lengthy needle into his foe's eye. What an eyesore. But by far the most unholy sounding defilement mentioned has to be this ill little puppy: "Later in the game, a member of The Project has both his plums and a pair of vertebrae removed with a pair of pliers." It's absolutely nuts.
    Big Screen, Main Screen

Above: Compared to plier-powered testicle pulling, an axe to the head seems pretty tame

Other interesting bits revealed by UK's OPM:
    • The Director, gangs, CCTV cameras and death row dodger, James Earl Cash, from the first Manhunt won't play a part
    • Manhunt 2 's main character, scientist Dr Daniel Lamb, is locked in a private asylum by The Project - shady backers of a top secret drugs-based weapons program that Lamb was working on
    • After breaking out of the asylum, Daniel Lamb goes on the run with psychotic inmate Leo Kasper, who is happy to coach Lamb on the brutal art of violence
    • Like the first Manhunt, kills are executed in three deadly shades - Hasty, Violent and Gruesome
    • Environmental kills have been introduced (push an enemy face first into a live fuse box, for example)
    • Loud ambient noises can be exploited by Lamb to drown out his own crashing about
    • When hiding in shadows, if an enemy comes close the player will sometimes have to copy a button combo in order to regulate Lamb's breathing and ensure that he remains undetected
    • Lamb can climb and crawl - two moves that Manhunt's James Earl Cash couldn't do
    • Guns can be used for stealth kills

For the full, uncut Manhunt 2 details (with pictures and everything), be sure to pick up issue 4 of UK's Official PlayStation Magazine when it goes on sale this Wednesday.

    Awesome.

To be honest, if the gameplay ain't up to scratch then I ain't getting it.
Still good to see an adult orientated slant on the Wii though.

Might end up getting Scarface when it's out, enjoyed it on the PS2 and while it wasn't a GTA, there were things it did better than GTA in a lot of respects.

The Godfather was a terrible game to begin with but you'd never know how the Wii controls might transform it.

    Things are looking up.
