Probably old news now but this is god damn killing me

you know the price of the PS3 is 630Euro, those s**ts, they rounded it up to 630Euro, are people just going yeah ok ill pay it, is nobody saying Sony you F**ks, kiss my ass.

Surprised everyone just seems not to bothered.

630Euro for the console, ohh and there not releasing the crap20gig version here until end of year ! who would want it anyway.

60-65Euro a game, probably most of them will be missing last level and then u have to go and download the f**ker just to complete it. or a ptach to fix some bug

then if you want HD , u maybe want a HD TV, theres a grand

So your gonna want about 2 or 3 games from the launch titles, so are you really gonna fork out 2000Grand for all this.

I know is by far the best of the machines , problem being Sony knows it too.

Well your paying essentially for a blu-ray player. If thats what you want then its actually cheap. If not then get a wii or 360.

people aren't really pissed since the €630 is justified in what's in the box. the issue people have is that they're forced to own all the extra's. i.e. the 360 is €410 with 20GB HDD, then another €80 for the wireless thing if you want it, and another €200 for the hd-dvd player... again, if you so desire. overall the cost is fine, but it's the fact that people are being forced into owning a blu-ray player etc. that has them all hot 'n bothered.

By Xmas 07 we should know who has won the blu-ray VS hd-dvd war. If blu-ray wins then the e630 isnt a bad price considering what you'll pay for a stand-alone player. If it doesnt then I see no reason to get a ps3 (other then for the few exclusives like Grand Turismo) bacause the 360's Online play is alot better and they have practically the same games and graphics.

I do think the price is quite high, but as Projectmayhem said, you're only paying for what you get.And to be honest it's not the console that will bleed your wallet dry, the console is a one time buy and a long term investment.It's the games that you buy constantly that will cost you the most in the long run.
And the games will cost the same as the 360 games, so there is no reason to buy a 360 over a PS3 if your only justification in doing so is saving money.

I am confident that the Playstation will win this generation like it did the last two, and I am going to consider it money well spent, and can't wait to get it on launch.

The xbox 360 is a much better buy at the moment. It has finally gotten a great range of quality games and is a cheaper machine that doesn't force you to pay extra for betamax 2 compatibility. The PS3 may get some quality games but the launch line-up isn't the best with only motorstorm being surprisingly good (I don't believe the hype surrounding Resistance). At the moment there is no way you can say the PS3 will be the better machine. Despite claims by Sony it so far isn't as impressive as the nicest looking 360 games and developers say there is very little performance difference between the two.

Look this is next generation here, so the 360 can give nice graphics, who cares, i want innovation, PS3 has got this with next gen tech, and blows the 360 away graphics wise, simple i like the PS3 real time rendering capabilities, six axis pad and well if they are pumping out games like they are now, then imagine what they be doing in few years.

like look to the PS2 now, christ the older it got the better it got, now the developers have it maxed out and its a nightmare to program games for, PS3 doesnt have this problem , programming games is easier, 50 gig games (imagine FF13), new tech cell processor, real time rendering,

Sony will dominate that just that, PS2 games now , amazing, God Hand , God of War 2, OKami(is amazing game, brilliant) , and well the truly brilliant FF12, probably one of the best games ever to come out for PS2.

PS3 is about 5 Sbox 360 or more, and the developers dont know what the cell can do, not only that the main processor is the new Cell Tech, and the Graphics card also runs the same Cell tech, it is much more powerfull, u ahve to be crazy to compare, i bet u see a nice CG sequence on the 360 and come in your pants , am i right ! cmon

I haven't seen anything on the PS3 that looks better than Gears of War. And any games that are on both, look the same, and in some case better on the 360.

The PS3 by all accounts is no easier to program for. The Cell processor is unusual by any standards. Real Time rendering - do you even know what that means? Its just a little buzz phrase. The N64 did real-time rendering.

What about Dead Rising, Viva Pinata - they're both very original. Look what's upcoming - Bioshock, Assasin's Creed, Mass Effect, Alan Wake. The Sixaxis pad is a joke. A controller without rumble? Utterly inexcusable in this day and age. So many gaming conventions use rumble.

You are the biggest fanboy I've happened across in quite some time. While I agree the PS2 was and still probably is an amazing console. The PS3 is by no means a sure thing. At the moment it is losing Japan to the Wii. If Sony loses Japan and some of the big name Japanese developers jump ship, Sony is in trouble. Dragon Quest IX is already gone to the DS.

well will say this, i have an Xbox and Gamecube and PS2 and a 360, so i go for all the console and like to compare, is not that im up for Sony and all, just i believe they will rule the show, maybe i be wrong on this.

MS have come out with all guns blazing with the 360, and fair dues, is a good machine, with some great looking games, Sony might not have gone to much further but still have gone further, while Nintendo have gone for another approach,

Think all 3 machines have their merits, but PS and Xbox will but heads again, while WII are trying to sneak away with a other side of gaming. Who will win?

I don't think any reasoned gamer wants to see any one party 'slam dunk' this gen. A varied and competitive playing field shakes them all up. This benefits us all.

I already have a 360. So until the PS3 shows me it can offer something that the 360 can't and boasts an equally capable online service, I remain unimpressed with it's relatively high price.
