    hi all

    i'm curious about this

I like lots of things about my little squier (ibanez s copy)
the flat neck, the scale length, the jumbo frets, the h-s-h config
locking floyd type, and general playability

I was thinking of getting a better electric but
i dont want the "metal" looks.

is there a classic design with all the above features
(about a grand is my lot BTW)

(BTW My favorite guitar design ever is the jag and jazz)

Ibanez S series, you have a clone but they'ne not all Metal looking.

    Edit -> for example

Another alternative would be to get a Jaguar with a stoptail bridge,

and install something like a Kahler 2200 series trem which is relatively painless and only requires minimal routing. I have one on a Gibson V which originally had the stoptail, but that might be pushing your budget tbh.

Edit - although... the tailpiece looks to be a bit farther away than the Gibson

    hi doc

    thanks for that,

I dont like the first two
the colours are too much and still scream motley crue!

    but the third is dishy
do you know the model number
I spotted the prestige on the head - so thats probably quite expensive

edit : hi posted before i saw the jags reply,
obviously i would absolutley love one of those
but surely the neck is very thick and it aint got jumbo frets
I dont know if I could live with myself putting a floyd type
    on something that gorgeous

my experience of electrics is skant, I have a 335 copy and the little squier
    and they are totally different
if I play the squier for a few days, I can hardly play the other one
until I get accustomed to it again and vice versa

could you get the action right down on a jag
    without losing its tones?

    regards

The third one is the S2120 but they don't make em anymore.

Have a look on http://www.ibanez.co.jp/japan/index.html at their S models, see if there's anything from the current line that takes your fancy. If you're familiar with the that style of guitar it might not be a bad thing to stick with them, they have all the features you want, you just need to find one that's aesthetically pleasing to you.

Regarding the Jags, they still make them with the rounder fretboards so they may not have the feel you're looking for. Have you considered something like a deluxe double fat strat, they have twin humbuckers and Floyds as stock

Dont buy a new Ibanez S series. Since they moved production of the S models to Korea, they are pure sh1t.

Best look for one a couple of years old .

FWIW I've seen these add-on trems being highly recommended also.
