    Chili con carne?

    The recipe I use;
    feeds two/three-
    1/2lb of mince
    pepper
    onion
    garlic(optional imo)
chili ( use chili paste instead usually)
whatever spices you want to add...
    chili powder
    tomato puree
    tin of tomatoes
    tin of kidney beans

fry mince, leave aside. fry chopped onion and pepper, then add chili/paste, mince, puree, tin of tomatoes.simmer for twenty mins then add tin of kidney beans and cook fro another five to ten mins. serve with rice or whatever you like yourself.

I think that's about all that's to it.

    How about home-made Burgers?

    Serves 4

    Ingredients
    750g minced steak
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 slices of bread in breadcrumbs
    1 egg, lightly beaten
    1 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
    ½ tbsp thyme, finely chopped
    1 tbsp flour
    Salt & pepper, to taste

The following could also be used depending on how adventurous you want to be:
cumin, chilli, paprika or dried chilli flakes
    crushed garlic
    grated ginger
    chopped fresh coriander

    Preparation
Whiz the bread in the food processor to produce rough breadcrumbs.
Lightly fry the onions for 3-4 mins.
Add all the ingredients (apart from the flour) to the mixing bowl & mix thoroughly.
Run your hands under water as this will help prevent the mixture from sticking to them.
Cover & refrigerate for 30 mins.
Roughly divide into 8 lumps & press gently into patties.
If frying, coat each patty in the flour – dusting of the excess.
On a high heat add a half tbsp of olive oil to the frying pan & seal each side of the burgers – 2 to 3 mins each side.
Transfer the burgers to a medium grill & cook for 8 to 10 mins – turning occasionally.
Check if they’re done by sticking a knife through one & twisting so you can see if the center is cooked.

Thats hardly the be all and end all of the recipe. find a bag of crumb in the supermarket (fridge section usually) or break a few slices up to a crumb consistency. What do you think people did before blenders?

Fry the mince with chopped onion, garlic a small red chilli chopped, until brown. May have to remove some of the fat depending on quality of the beef

When finished added a good splash of soy sauce and salt, needs alot of salt.

have in a taco or pitta with what ever is handy, grated cheese, salsa, sour cream, salads, whatever u like.

should only take about 10 mins to make.

Shepards Pie (this recipe is on the side of the can of soup)

    Mince
    Onion
    Potatoes
    Can of Cambells Vegtable Soup
    Cheese

    Fry mince.
    Add chopped onion.
    Lash in can of soup.

    Meanwhile...
    Boil spuds
Mash them + add grated cheese.

Assemble + lash into moderate oven for 20 mins.

EAT! (I like mine with Coleslaw)

Leave out the breadcrumbs. Gives you a "meatier" burger too.

Meat loaf, an American standard. Years since I made it, but I seem to remember mixing corn and chopped peppers and onions with the meat, with a lash of olive oil and an egg to bind it all, then cooking it in a greased loaf tin. Delicious. Serve in thick slices with mashed potatoes and something nice and green - spinach, broccoli, green peas.

The beauty of meatloaf isd that you can pretty much season it to your liking. I normally put more garlic in than that, and a good dash of worcester sauce. Don't really bother with paprika though.

Fry some finely diced onion, garlic and a little chilli
    fry mince until well browned
    add cinamon, tumeric and salt
add almonds and either some sultanas or some frozen peas
    a little water

Cover and cook until the fruit swells up
then uncover and cook the water out until it is quite dry

The meat can be eaten from a pitta or in a wrap
Garnish with slices of tomato and cucumber

Make a dressing with a tablespoon of houmous and a tablespoon of natural yogurt and enough water to thin it out. Add salt and a squeeze of lemon to taste.

Agreed here, I am more a fan of the hard shells though. Crunchy.

And cook it up with the fahita mix rather than the taco mix. Its more barbeque in taste and has more flavour.
