Sky set up for new extension

I'm sure this has been covered many times but some advice for a "sky virgin".

I am having an extension to an old house and will switch from ntl to sky when I move back in. I want to connect five rooms, three of which will have their own sky boxes (one HD) . One other will connect to one of the sky boxes with magic eye and another will be FTA.

    Questions:
Should I try and connect all five directly from LNB ?
How many connections will I need from satellite as I think sky+ needs 2 ? What is best type of cable to use ?
Should I be thinking of anything else when I have ability at construction stage to put down whatever wires I want ?
Can I neatly put my sky box away somewhere and have a IR device near LCD for using remote ?
Have a sparky for the electrics on the house but who would be best to do this ?....... approved installer ?

you'll need two cables for sky+ and two for hd. you should think about telephone sockets beside where the tvs are going. either put an octo lnb or a distribution systems.
    hope this helps:)

Well, make sure you're going to be using CT100 or equivalent "copper on copper" cable. Electricians tend to use the cheaper and inferior RG6 stuff, and it's not recommended for satellite signals.

At your main TV point, consider at least 4 cables. 2 for the HD box, one for terrestrial feed (if you plan to do that in the future), and one as a return path.

Might be worth also considering a minimum of 2 cables in each of the other rooms you plan putting in the other Sky boxes. 1 for terrestrial, 1 for satellite. If one of the other rooms is also going to feed another room, then a 3rd cable will be required.

And as Wex96 said, also run in phone cables for connection to the boxes for Multiroom.
