Does anyone know in Dublin where I can get a cheap divx player.

I could probably get one on the internet, but I was hoping that I could pick one up in Dublin city for cheap, less than 100

Dunno about Dublin, but I picked up a cheapie DivX player in Smyth's toys last week (has a USB 1.1 slot too) so should be available somewhere near you (check www.toys.ie Catalogue Ref No: D08719). Playback from my 4GB USB stick is patchy in quality - stuttering, etc. (haven't tried using a smaller capacity one yet) but from a DVD with DivX files its perfect.

The player was mentioned on this forum earlier if you have a search around. Its marked 59.99 but scans at 50.99 + €1 PRF. Comes with bass + 2 speakers - didn't bother hooking them up. Very happy with it!

dunnes do an amstrad and a plustron one for about €35. Have the amstrad and it's run all the files i've thrown at it no problem.

If you want to go a little better then the Philips DVP5960 is available in dixons and currys for 99 Euro. It plays divx, and is also an upscaling DVD player so if you get a HD TV in the near future you can use it via hdmi or component and upscale your movies.

The Philips DVP5960 is about twenty euro cheaper at Powercity :

Its €79.95 but was €76.95 last week. I'd get it myself but I'm down here in Limerick :(
