.AVI FILE opening as audio only

    Hi guys,

    Ive been sent a .avi file which for some reason is opening as an audio only file.. no visual... anyone any ideas why it wont show the video?

    Download divx and try it to play the file. You are probably missing the correct codecs

    There's almost a thread a day about this, AVI is a container for lots of different codecs, either download a programme called G-spot to find what codec you need, of download VLC media player which will play almost everything.

    Yes, VLC will play nearly any media file. It's great :)

    Also another great player i have come accross recently is gom player. http://www.gomplayer.com/main.html

    it plays everything like vlc without the need for extra codecs and it has a nice ui
