After this weekends games, here's a little bit of fun.

I've selected my team of the week from the bellow players.

England: Morgan; Lewsey, Tindall, Farrell, Robinson; Wilkinson, Ellis; Freshwater, Chuter, Vickery (capt), Deacon, Grewcock, Worsley, Lund, Corry.

Scotland: Southwell; S Lamont, Di Rollo, Henderson, Paterson (capt), Parks, Cusiter; Kerr, Hall, Murray, Kellock, Hamilton, Taylor, Callam, Brown.

Wales: K Morgan; Luscombe, J Robinson, Hook, Czekaj; S Jones (capt), Peel; G Jenkins, R Thomas, Horsman, Gough, Wyn Jones, Popham, M Williams, R Jones.

    Ireland: Dempsey; Trimble, B O'Driscoll (capt), D'Arcy, Hickie; O'Gara, Stringer; Horan, R Best, Hayes, O'Callaghan, O'Connell, S Easterby, D Wallace, Leamy.

Italy: De Marigny, Dallan, Canale, M. Bergamasco, Masi, Scanavacca, Griffen, Perugini, Ongaro, Nieto, Dellape, Bortolami, Sole, M. Bergamasco, Parisse.

France: Poitrenaud, Heymans, Fritz, Jauzion, Dominici, Skrela, Mignoni, Milloud, Ibanez, De Villiers, Thion, Nallet, Betsen, Bonnaire, Chabal.

    15. K Morgan (Wales)
    14. Heymans (France)
    13. O'Driscoll (Irish)
    12 D'Arcy (Ireland)
    11. J Robinson (England)
    10. Wilkinson (England)
    9. Peel (Wales)

    1. Milloud (France)
    2. Ibanez (France)
    3. Vickery (England)
    4. Thion (France)
    5. Grewcock (England)
    6. Popham (Wales)
    7. M. Bergamasco (Italy)
    8. Parisse (Italy)

Tough calls at 8 with Leamy having a great game, and Chabal as well, I've gone with two French front rowers who put it up against an impressive Italian 3-piece (twice), I thought Vickery was good in the loose.

Behind the scrum, I thought Peel was more impressive considering the opposition, Wilkinson was the stand out OH, Robinson on the wing, with Heymans at the other site (no-one else impressed)

Irish centre pairing were immense, and Morgan at FB impressed with his attacking, notable mention to Jauzion

Anyone else have anything similar, or maybe even completely different. :)

Robinson was crap. Did nothing but for the tries. Constantly out of position and had to run back to collect the ball giving and away giving away miles of territory with his terrible boot.

Also can't believe you didn't have Ellis at 9, was definitely the English catalyst.

Also the French didn't put it up to the best Italian scrummages (Lo Cicero and C.Giv)

    Don't remember much from Parisse.

I'm just criticising, too lazy to make my own list at this hour.

Good one Zabbo, I'll think of mine and add it later, but i need to ask HOW you could pick Parisse from a team who lost 39-3 against the team that beat them and whose No.8 was MOTM?? Sorry had to ask :p

    Ok here goes:

    Morgan (Wales)
    Heymans (France)
    O'DRISCOLL (Ireland)
    D'ARCY (Ireland)
    Dominici (France)
    Wilkinson (England)
    Ellis (England)
    Chabal (France)
    Williams (Wales)
    EASTERBY (Ireland)
    Grewcock (England)
    O'CALLAGHAN (Ireland)
    Vickery (England)
    Ibanez (France)
    Milloud (France)

I had real trouble with the front row - only saw the end of the first half onwards of the French game - so really some of the french names are in there more because of what I wasn't impressed with elsewhere.
No Scottish or Italians, sorry but it would be an insult to do so. Both teams were poooooooooor! (admittedly missed Italy's 'purple' patch, but I make no excuses - they lost by nearly 40 points)
In spite of my wailing, I put O'Callaghan in, wasn't his best day, but he's still the best number 4 in the world. Easterby had a wily enough game, I felt, part of a decent backrow.
The two French wingers were the only choices really, as were the centres. FB - nobody stood out more than Morgan, some choice kicking. One of only two Welsh, a bit harsh - Welsh backrow was tight as well, I felt, Some really good rucking in the game. But nobody really stood out.
Sangre, I only just put Ellis ahead of Peel. He had an inspired game, but really Scotland were so below par, any Scrum-half in the world would have had a great game. If I had to pick a Scrum-half tomorrow, I wouldn't look past Peel.
Star man: Wilkinson. Scary good. Hugely impressive comeback, and his ability to cause problems with kicking LITERALLY makes England twice better.
