been having problems with DVD playback so i decided to buy a new decoder from Inter Video.. when I go to run the application it tells me "the setup has already detected another DVD decoder installed on your system. It is recommened that you uninstall your existing decoder before continuing with the installation"

My question is, where do I go to uninstall my existing DVD decoder

    Any help would be great

    - Thanks

Go into Add/Remove and look though the list of installed applications

Intervideo WinDVD, Cyberlink PowerDVD, Sonic CinePlayer etc and remove whatever is there.

It sounds like an older version of WinDVD is present as the prompt to uninstall the other decoder is unusual.

There are also good free alternatives like MPC & VLC.
