For all those who watch a lot of poker on youtube.com, surely you subscribe to 81makka81 who had over 900 poker clips including HSP,WSOP,WPT along with coverage from other events. Anyway today i went to watch one of his clips and to my disgust all his videos have been removed by youtube 'due to terms of use violation', anyone have any idea why this would be?

Videos are taken of youtube all the time due to copyright infringement, they have had to take down 30,000 videos at request of viacom this week. This will be no differant.

Pretty much, google buying them out has meant they have to go legit. They are trying strategy of negotiating deals with various tv stations etc to keep clips up and have done so with CBS but companies they have can't do deals with are going to get clips removed.

Youtube always take down material when the Copyright holder reports someone posting a video that infringes upon their copyright.

Unless the Copyright holder requests the material is taken down, Youtube does nothing. Their terms of use sets up this situation. So obviously in this situation the copyright holder reported the clips and "requested" they be removed.

Hence the new move by Youtube to pay the Copyright holders for the content of their movies, clips, etc. in the past week or so..

EDIT : Slightly drunk, so if that wasn't well explained, please excuse me....
