But the controller working and everything, can select the player, hand on screen and everything, havent changed it around yet but doesnt seem to be a problem with the remote. does it work in any other games ? the pointer on the menus is a different part of the wiimote to the part that motion is detected with. Sounds like the wiimote is knackered.

Had something similar happen. I disconnected the nun chuck in the middle of a boxing match and then played tennis and couldnt swing either. Had to unplug the wii then re-synch all wii-motes using the red buttons under the flap on the wii and beside the battery on the wii-motes. Everything works fine now.

Its either that or the motion sensor in the remote is broken.
