Cheers for that but i, for one, will never shop with McDonagh's again!

Girlfriend bought me a 21" inch TV from them last Christmas. Brought it in a taxi from the store to her house, wrapped it, then brought it to my house. Opened it Christmas Day, seam had opened in the TV and it was smashed to bits. They were extremely reluctant to give us a replacement.. only after hounding them did they eventually do it.

Very poor customer service and downright arrogant snotty salespeople... sorry, this is more of a consumer issue but it's worth noting about them.

I agree 100% Basquille. I have no time for them either. I had bad experiences with them when I bought my new house and went with them for a lot of the white goods.

    Hi anyone reading this

This concerns the Colooney store - and yes, sterile, limp service. Vinnie McDonagh at Ballymote is the original and best - bought several items off him, one scratched and changed without question. Bought an item that (after 6 months without use) didn't fit our purposes - Vinnie gave a credit note that is dateless... we can use it at any time. Hope he doesn't close down ;-)
I say smaller store, better service.

    Agree.

Got my old 6gb Sony Walkman from them, and after 3 months it broke.

I brought it back and they said it was fixed when it wasn't. I had a huge struggle to get a replacement from them after it was in for repair the 3rd time and was away for a month. Never will I tough anything to do with McDonagh's again.

Currys In Sligo is the best customer service, very helpful staff there . some of the sales dont have a clue what there talking about but in fairness they try their best. Also i found there very helpful and willing to help you out to your car with whatever you buy. Wont leave until they fit the product into the car. there is a small young fellow there is is very helpful
