Following up on 'The 40 Year Old Virgin', Apatow's next puts Seth Rogen in a starring role alongside a great cast: Katherine Heigl (Grey's Anatomy), Paul Rudd (Anchorman, The 40 Year Old Virgin), Leslie Mann (The 40 Year Old Virgin), BJ Novak (The Office), Alan Tudyk (Firefly).

And with any Apatow casting comes a slew of people from his past productions.. from 'Freaks And Geeks': Jason Segal (Nick Andopolis), Martin Starr (Bill Haverchuck) and From 'Undeclared': Jay Barachul (Steven Karp).

    Domestic Trailer @ Yahoo

Probably the film i'm most looking forward to this year. Will be released here in August.

Looks good. I loved the 40 year old virgin and as you this has a very good cast. I see Harold Ramis has a small role in it as well. Should be fun.

I'm sorry but you're outta your goddarn mind!

Apatow's scripts are some of the freshest and funniest things to come outta the States in the last 5 - 10 years.

Yeah, joking about a guy wanting to see gay sex scenes in a movie, that's real high-brow. Maybe if you're 16 this would crack you up. Do you also think "American pie" is hilarious?

I despise American Pie and I agree that Apatow comes close to being the best thing to happen to comedy in the last decade. The 40 Year Old Virgin does contain gross out moments, yes, but it is full of intelligence, wit and heart as well. Knocked Up seems to reach that same great mix as well.

That said, I will never bad mouth the man who brought us that most hollowed of shows *reverent silence*

Have to disagree with the love-fest on 40 Year Old Virgin here - was a very average film with a scattering of quite funny bits (the ones we saw in the trailer).

Will probably go to see this film, though, as it's getting some good reviews... not going to get my hopes up, though. And given past experience I bet the funniest bits are in the trailer.

Sigh. I hate the way people always sh!t on comedy movies. Their is no universally liked comedy and that is a fact. Someone always doesnt get it. If you think that the 40 year old virgin / this are the lowest common denomenator then I suggest you go rent "Freddy Got Fingered" you will then see a movie much further down the scale.

The 40 year old virgin was one of the best comedys of the last 10 years to compare it to American Pie is like comparing Saving Private Ryan to a Rambo movie as war films. Sure they both have plenty of blood and guts and shooting. But one is well made and has heart and a proper storyline at its centre.

Freddy Got Fingered doesn't even make it onto the scale :D.

I think that looks hilarious, wouldn't class it as lowest common denominator comedy at all.

You can't give out about people sh*tting on a movie and then proclaim something to be the best film of the last decade - as you said, everyone has their own opinion on things and people are free to make comparisons. They might be idiotic, but if that's what they take from something, so be it.

I'm over in the States at the moment adn went to see this the other night, it is possibly the funniest film i have ever seen, amazing. As comedies go, this one is near flawless in my books.

When is out back in Ireland?

Well ive seen an em 'promotional copy' and I must say I loved it. Really funny. Id rate it as even better than 40 year old virgin. Its along similar lines though so if you like that you will like this. whoever said the writers scripts are the freshest things coming out of the states in the last 5 years is spot on. Im still laughing at it days after seeing it.

Have high hopes for this even though I wasn't the biggest fan of The 40 Year Old Virgin. Apatow reuniting with a few of the Freaks and Geeks cast has got me quite excited. No chance I'll be waiting until September to see this.

Some people simply can't say they don't like a certain film, they feel the need to address everyone that does like it and imply their tastes are somehow "wrong".

It's the same as the people that come on here proclaiming anyone that likes Sin City is a woman-hating angry man, and everyone that likes Hostel / Saw is a freak that "gets off" on gore.

Looking forward to seeing it anyway, 40 Year Old Virgin had plenty of flat/unfunny bits, but plenty of LOL moments too.
