I'm buying my mother a GPS for her bday I have no idea (apart from what I have red on the forum) about them. I need something really simple for her that will be voice activated or a really big screen so she dosnt crash trying to figure out where she is! Thing is she lives in France and I just dont wanna mess up and get her one that dosnt work there or something I am not tech inclined at all so if I just get a name of a good system I 'll run out and buy one. I REALLY appreciate any help!
    Thanks.

You dont say where yu live , go into a retailer and have a look at the units available . Most of them will have pan-European maps and very good coverage of France . Dont buy the first one you see , play around with a few ofthem and see what you think your Mam will like !

Both Halfords and Harvey Norman have a variety of GPS Units for you to have a hands on . You can put in your Mams home address in France and see if they cover it .

And if your not that good a techy type things then if you can manage to understand how to use the thing then you've probably found yourself a model that your mam stands a better chance of being able to grasp the usage of as well. ;)

Perhaps buy of pixmania and get them to deliver to her address in france. pixmania are based in france anyway. Onl thing is if you buy with credit card then you may ring them cause sometimes the cc address and the delivery address have to match.

as for a recommendation i would go for the airis t920 with european mapping.very simple unit to use and works well. plus its very keenly priced on pixmania.

hope im not too late replying to miss the bday!
