Do ulcers burn?

I think i have an ulcer. i have had small amounts of discomfort - not really pain - in the left side of the middle of my stomach for a year or so. but the last few days ive been getting a burning sensation. is that normal? or is it something more sinister?

You should go see your GP, no-one's gonna give you medical advice based on a 2 sentence history without examination! Sorry!
