    Monitor keeps going dark.

    Can anyone help with this.

My desktop monitor will work fine and then suddenly go almost black, you can still just make out the text on the screen, its like someone turned off the backlight.

Has this happened to anyone, any fixes?

Make sure the cable is tight at the back for starters. What is the make/model of the monitor? How old is it?

About 2 years old, I have tried it in a different computer and the same thing

Chances are the monitor is on its last legs, can u try using another one in its place for a while just to confirm it doesn't happen with that one.
I guess Ruu is askin how old it is to see if it is still under warranty.... is it ?

sounds like the inverter has had it,
afaik these can be replaced on sharp monitors and a few others
