I'll get in here with the first nomination for Dave Murray. Although there's quite a few who deserve mentioning, but I'll let others nominate them.

I'd like to nominate Lloyd for his GJP result and Flushdraw for his final tables in 2 3k+ buyin events in the past 12 months.

Smurph for unbelievable consistency, how many final tables & wins ?

    ditto the above.

I also think the following should warrant mention.

Smurph - ultra consistent regardless of the event/buyin/structure - its is obvious that she has the game for any event.
Carrigeen - cashed in the big ones and having watched him at the IPC it is only a matter of time before he takes down a big one - absolutely top class player imo.
NFR and Round Tower - for their exploits in WSOP.
PillowTalk - bubbling under!! Having watched him closely in the IPC again a breakthrough in a major tournament is only around the corner.

Agree with all the above but have to add in Dave Masters, he has had two top three finishes in ranking events last year, mind you when you play every tournament you have to get there eventually :D

This is the nominations thread though, not the vote!

Brendan McKenna in Drogheda has been very consistently in the pack.

IMHO, consistancy > one result. Its great to get a result but given the choice between the two I'd pick someone who always seems to be at the final table. Just my 2c.

    DeV.

smurf and flushdraw are already nominated (if they improve further watch yer wallets) , so I nominate The Chief for his colourful alternative style of playing.
Ok he's no Phil Ivey but I for one got entertianment (including some final table suckout from him) .

GO Chief (pity he's tightend up)

seemng as Padraig posted here a few days ago I think it's appropriate to nominate him for his 2006 performance:

he won about 400k last year

My first proposal is that the 'Offline Player' in the subject line be changed to 'Live Player'. I hate the online/offline distinction; it's as if online poker was the birth of poker and live poker is just a secondary distraction. But I suppose that's just nit-picking and for another thread.

Is this only for tournament results? If it's also for cash, then I nominate Flipper and bops for consistent results on the live scene. The games around the country may be relatively fishy, but they're also very variance-heavy, and it takes a cool head to regularly do well in them.

I have a few nominations to put up...

1st nomination would be Flushdraw as he has turned his game around 100%
ollieboy who is a very consistent player -
Daithio who is an excellent player -
lloyd and Smurph who are always there or there abouts -

there are lots i could mention but they are the ones that come to mind...

For the sake of arguement please include the player's boards nickname for this category.

Cant believe no one has mentioned flipper, Won one and second in another of the top six tournaments run in the country for 2006

    http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=47058

Also Dave Masters pppspecial has to be included on any list for 2006

Have a look at both links, a great 2006 for both, both were top rated Irish players on the European rankings. Think both had about eight cashes in major events so in my mind it should be a race between these two

Edit soz lenny i see you gave flipper the nod as for bops and live results, dont know whats he been telling but I think he more one to watch for 2007

It would have to be Dave Masters PPP Special for me, he has had an amazing 2006 live, never mind online which I would be terrified to think how good he is. I know he has cunning plans for every player at the table he sits with.

Flipper would be second for me, I never really spoke to him much and to be honost I thought he was a bit arrogant, but he is actually the opposite. Sat at the same table as him in the Poker Events Sattellite where he was unlucky to get the bubble.

Live poker is a strange one to do nominations for, The "professional" players obviously will be playing in more of the big events, hence more pay days maybe. Also there is alot of Boardsies based in Dublin, so people who get to final tables etc., in Dublin events get noticed more.

Smurph for the amateurs (without a doubt)
    and Parkinson for the Pros.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,048 ✭✭✭Flipper

I haven't played with many boardsies but I suppose one that impressed me was LuckyLloyd. He played very well during the final table bubble of the Paddy Power Xmas Cracker. I've haven't really played many tourneys in Dublin (except for 1 or 2 in the Fitz) and can't think of any boardsies that I've played in the €100 omaha game with.

Id like to nominate 5starpool. He had a great year winning a ticket to the Epm then getting to the final table and second in the boards monthly game and other good consistent results.

hes also a consistent winner in the fitz Omaha games. Consistency is more important than a big win for me.......... would anyone vote for jamie gold as player of the year!!!!

Daithio for his consistency, and undoubted talent for the game
Phantom Lord for young player of the year :)

Thought Id mention Mickste whos been a very consistent performer in Dublin tournaments-nearly always to be seen near the final table.
