www.rte.ie seems that RTE continue to follow the BBC but the site looks far better then it has in the past.

Why spend money on branding when your website doesn't use the on screen logo for either channel. I know that ads for shows on RTE TWO use this font but I have never seen it on RTE ONE and it isn't used for the RTE TWO logo. Why use it on the website?

Look at the links at the bottom of the page RTE RADIO 1 and RTE 2fm have different logos on their site. Only lyric and RnaG have theirs put on properly.

Petty I know but with all the branding going on in RTE they should at least try :)

Yes, I noticed the site had changed last night.

It looks OK, a bit more uniform than the old design, though I was getting used to the old one.

I must say it is a big step backwards from the old site.

I visit http://www.rte.ie/news daily, on the old site you got all the articles and their summaries, now you only get the summaries for the top three articles.

If you go to http://www.rte.ie/news/fullindex.html you get a much better display, but then it is an extra mouse click, why isn't this page at http://www.rte.ie/news ?

Also on the old news page, you had the top three latest entries in the sport, business and entertainment sections displayed on the right hand side, which was very convenient to check for new news items in these sections, you didn't have to actually check the other sections and it also attracted you into the other sections that you might not have otherwise visited. Now these are gone and you now have to click into each section individually to check them.

From a user interface point of view this is a disaster and an example of what not to do when redesigning your website.
