    Hey peeps,

Have a bit of a problem. A computer was being put onto a domain and previously was on a workgroup. The machine was placed on the domain and all of the local users data was transfered onto the server.

Then the users local account was removed along with all of the local users data obviously. But the problem is that the users data didnt backup fully to the server and their are critical files missing from the old local users data on the server. I have tried restoring programs but to no avail, the data is corrupted and inaccurate.

Is there any way of getting the data back or restoring the profile?
If you think you have a solution, please post, or even better if you have a solution, please post twice. :)

    Thanks in advance!

If you have written any new files (or the system has) to the same hard drive, the contents off the deleted files may already be beyond recovery.

Have a look at link below. I have'nt tried it but I have tried r-studio with some great success. But as stated above it all depends on what has been written to the hard drive.

lol cheers dude. System restore is only registry and system files I thought? It wont actually restore deleted files? Ive tried undeleting programs but all I get are corrupted files. There is over a gig of documents gone. :'(

:o Your right System Restore will recover the profile but not the data. If you have tried undeleting programs and they dont work it looks like your in trouble. I have been there before myself and its not nice! Best of luck with it.
