    hey
have been looking alot into getting a PDW as my secondary weapon for my sniper. anyone have any ideas which one is the best. have been saving for a bit for a TM mp7 but am now thinking about an TMp90.
cant be rolling about the woods with only a bolt action agasint AEGs and have no interest in pistols.
so whats your choice in the PDW department?

If I were carrying a bolt sniper around, I wouldn't want to be carrying a p90 too. They're bigger then they seem.

The MP-7 would be nice and small. Or how about a mp5k?

Oh you have a utg sniper? same as myself. I have a gas mac 11 I was going to use as a backup for it. too unreliable at the moment though. If i ever decide to use it I'll hopefully have a mp5k as a backup.

As Oisin says they MP5 would probably be the best bet. The AK Beta is quite compact too, about the same size as an MP5 fixed stock. I can carry it on my back and use my AK74 no problem.

most people here will probably say the p90 as it has enough range to be used as a primary, out of the three id pick the mp7 based solely on looks and size if nothing else.
Ive an m3 shotgun instead of em all :p though one of the above aeg's probably are the sane choice :o

yea i own the utg m324, great gun
im moving along the lines of the p90 solely for the range and looks.
you got to be armed well for moving into a sniping postion. one time i got cornered with only the utg by 4 lads with aegs and pump actions and got totally lit up

well if ya realy like the look of the p90 ya probably should get it so, as its got alot of advantages.

Marui guns all have similar range and rate of fire. Buying the p90 over say, the mp7 really has no advantage. Its all purely aesthetic.

Just figure out what role the guns is being used for. If it's a backup, go with the smaller. You'll only be kicking yourself for buying something big.

Personally, as someone who has your sniper rifle, I wouldn't ever want to lug around a p90 too! You'd be in bits.

its got a fairly decent lenght barrel though, dunno exactly how long but whoopy/harekin/spitfire or someone could tell ya, personel preference anyway methinks,

The barrel will give him better accuracy over distance. But if he has a sniper and is using it as a backup to that, then that wouldn't really be the issue at hand :D

Course it's personal preference. But, there's the logical answer and there's the illogical one. Picking a p90 as a backup to a sniper, is to me, illogical. When there are smaller guns out there who will more or less preform the same. And you'll need something small to climb around with.

Anyway, that's just me. Feel free to totally prove me wrong!

to me it would have to come down to looks anyway.

I wouldnt use a P90 as a secondary. Its nice and small and handy as a primary but as a secondary its just a little too big. Its fairly heavy aswell, its got a metal top half.

    well heres my thinking
when the going gets tough, ie your sniping postion is spoted and your taking heavy fire you get outta there without your sniper rifle. i would have done this a few times when i have skirmished before but lack of a second gun prevented me from moving, so its either stay put and try and hold them off, and that is not going to happen, or pick up your 43 inch weapon and make a run for it.
with a second gun such as a p90, that is small enough to carry around, you can dump your rifle where it sits (make sure you take out the mag first so the enemy dont get there hands on it), (and if you have time your scope so now they defo cant use your gun on you) and have enough firepower and range to hold off the majjority of AEGs

    harken, about your p90
has it got iron sights or do you need to get a red dot sight

    Several problems with that.

    1. A p90 is not small enough to carry around as a secondary. That was my main point. It's just too big and impractical if you're going to be a sniper and climing along the ground.

2.Leaving your gun behind is madness. It could get lost. Any number of things could happen to it. You wouldnt do this in a proper game.

3.Take the Scope off your gun?! They take ages to zero in. why would you take the scope off and then have to zero it in again? Plus, you dont really need a scope on a sniper to use it anyway. more madness :p

Basically look. If you want to be a good sniper you wont need a backup big AEG. that's the point of being a sniper. Most only have a pistol as a backup.
If you're going to need to fall back on a p90, you're not going to be the best of snipers!

Seems you want the fun of AEGing but also the fun of picking people off with one shot. Buy an m14 or something like that and use it as a primary. It can do both.

...Or..seeing as you seem to really want a p90, buy a p90. But use it for what it's meant to be, a primary. You'll probably have much more fun with that in a game then with your sniper anyway.

Well, at the rate you buy stuff, it's kind of hard to know.

Actually, in total, including the stuff still on the way, what exactly do you have?

    I'd get the MP5K PDW as I love MP5s.

you can take off your sight with ease and put it back on without much time zeroing it if you have a numbered rail on the top of your rifle. that means your scope goes on the same rail lines and it was taken off.
3 shots and you should have it totally zeroed perfectly again to.
plus most sniper units consist of 2 man teams, (well in america anyway) in which the shooter will have an m4 and an m40 while the spoter will carry usually an m16. sniping is not about sitting in the same postion for an hour, but moving around th battle field, and in airsoft, planning the route in which the oppositon will most likely come and set up some sort of bottle neck.
if they catch you in the open moving to a new shooting postion, you better pray your quick working that bolt, (and with the utg thats never going to happen) or you purchase a good, long range carbine and be able to go bb for bb with them

Just about the weight thing, i tried out both the p90 and the mp5k there and the mp5 actually feels heavier then the p90.

(AND NO I WASN'T HOLDING BOTH MP5K's AT THE TIME)

P.S. dont kno what thread it was mentioned in but I have a spare mini Batt for that person if they want a lend of it.
