Hi folks, am new to boards.ie.

There is a talk on "Race, Poverty and Capital Punishment in the U.S." with Bryan Stevenson on February 9th, 1pm DCU Postgraduate Centre, followed by reception. Its being organised by the DCU Amnesty International Society.
Should be good, Bryan is from the US and knows what he's talking about, check him out on google.

I know daytime hours so not great for a lot of folk but its open to students and public all the same.

Also, any folks in and around DCU who want to join us and get active with the DCU Amnesty International Society drop us an email or for more info on the upcoming talk:
    http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~amnesty/

He'll be giving talks all over the country for a few days, see here:
    http://www.amnesty.ie/live/irish/article.asp?id=4033&page=00

It should be fairly topical with the recent executions of Saddam et al.
If you disagree with the death penalty please come along and feel free to express your opinion. They're doing a one hour video report report for RTE too for March with Bryan.

He was interviewed by Pat Kenny on the radio and it was very interesting.

    Ah yeah he was brilliant.
He told us they were trying to get the documentary that was on RTE March 1st shown in the US and they were being met with fierce opposition.
