I've just won a holiday to Australia. As I was in shock upon hearing the news most of the details didn't register and I've to wait for the postman to bring the prize details.

I presume I need a visa for Australia if so where do I go about getting it and how long should it take roughly.

I've to take it before the end of June so what's the weather like between Easter and then.

    thanks

It will be clear and dry if you are going to Bourke... but I guess you are probably not.

Apply online for a holiday visa, pay with a credit card. Thats it.

Well, done on the prize. What part of Oz you going to.

I'm pretty sure Visa First only do working holiday visas. If you're in Dublin, the Australian Travel Centre just beside the Abbey Street Luas stop does holiday visas for about E10. Not sure how long it takes but I'd say it's a fairly quick process.

June will be winter here and depending on what part you're going to can be surprisingly chilly as I found out the hard way when I arrived in Sydney in August. As far as I know up north should be hot all year round and the rainy season ends in about April. Check out www.australia.com for average temerature guides for different areas etc.

You'll have a great time & congrats on the prize.

Thanks folks, From what I remember we're staying in Sydney for 5 nights then driving on somewhere else for 3 nights. Can't wait to get the details, hopefully we can bring the children and pay for them ourselves
