Kings Inns - Part time course?

Just a quick query - I've wanted to do the degree course to train to be a barrister for a while now. Problem is, I have a full time job and the course is run during the day. I have heard on the grapevine that they are going to re-introduce the part-time course. Anyone know if this is true or not?! I just want to get going on this but if there is going to be a part-time course that would obviously suit me much better in that I could make some money to live on and do it! Being able to feed myself and pay my rent - Big advantage! Would appreciate any knowledge on this at all - even if just unsubstantiated second hand rumours...:D

The Kings Inns are looking into the possibility of running the course on a part-time basis. There is a lot of pressure on them to do this. No decision has as of yet been made. The nature of the course does not lend itself to being part time. A very high level of attendance (90%) is required. The current course consists of two two-hour sessions a day with a two hour break in between. The students have to prepare exercises and do research between and after classes.
In the old part-time degree it was only necessary to turn up for the exams at the end of the year. Some students passed exams without knowing what their lecturer looked like.

It won't be introduced in time for the 07-08 intake, but it looks strongly like it could be introduced for the following year.

Yeah, some of my friends have done it in the past few years but I have not had the money for the fees and am just finished paying off a loan for my masters so I had to work and hadn't €12 grand hanging around... I do know the previous course was alot more flexible than the one at the moment but I don't mind the inflexibility. Anyway, cheers guys.
