Salthill Airshow 2007 has been confirmed to go ahead on Sunday, 24 June 2007.

So far the only confirmed attending display team are the US Air Display Thunderbirds Group, more to follow as when I hear more

    Cheers

i had planned to go last year but the poor weather reports put me off. As things turned out the weather was pretty kind to the show if i remember. So i'm going to go this year if at all possible!!

Not sure, might be best getting in touch with the railway crowd. I have asked the organiser what have they laid on extra for the show. Once I hear anyhting back, I'll let ya all know the details.

That would be the RAF's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Their website doesn't have the 2007 season dates up yet, so it's very possible that they could do a flip across. Due to the age and rarity of the aircraft, (there're only two airworthy Lancasters remaining in the world, their one and another in Canada) they like to limit the annual hours, but Galway should be within their radius. They don't do a whole lot, a couple of low and slows, and nice banking turns, but they are an absolutely fantastic sight to behold ... and the sound ... all have Rolls Royce Merlin engines which have a distinctive and beautiful tone. It'd be really cool to see them here.

The most beautiful sound from an aircraft thats for sure, ecstacy (sorry it may seem like I made a mess all over the keyyybbooaardbut its true, honest - trust me, I am a photographer!!!)

The BBMF schedule for June was posted today at http://www.bbmf.co.uk/june07.html. Sadly, they won't be visiting Salthill.
