    Hi,

    I am talking to a builder at the moment about getting about 70k of work done.

    I was wondering what checks should I be doing before handing over the cash, or at least the first installment. I mean checks on the company etc like are they legit.

    I should stress I think they are legit, they have been at the house several times, have an up to date website etc.
