Play.com have reduced some PS3 game titles to EUR61.99 delivered. Not bad seeing as how some dude working in xtravision told me the games would be EUR100 a piece.

    that's great news

be careful with Play though. I got stung for customs on a DVD boxset there after xmas. 21% VAT plus 5 euro handling fee

turns a 62 euro game into 80 euro.

Saying that I am sure they don't check every thing so you might get have to pay it and you might not, Is it worth the risk though

They were never going to be 100 euro a piece, they were always gonna be the same price as 360 games, there's just a lot of stupid rumours floating around.

Anyway, not that great a deal from Play, I'm sure it'll beat the high street here for a little while but you'd be better off buying your PS3 games from videogamesplus.ca or other North American/Asian sites who will export to Ireland, games are around 45 euro each that way.

that was some idiot who read some rumours online, rather then spouting fact.

XtraVision are hopelessy overpriced for alot of things. Games in particular. But in terms of trading in games, they're one the best I've found.

They also do good dvd boxsets.

So Xtra-Vision (and by extension, ProjectMayhem ;) ) aren't all that bad.

But I can't see them charging €100 for a game. Saying that, I remember when Street Fighter 2 and Echo for the Megadrive cos £60/70!!

The Lik Sang thing and the customs crackdown on play and cd-wow sucked major ass though.

PS3 games are region-free world wide but read in a few places that the old NTSC/PAL problem might cause difficulty. If I buy a PS3 game from the US will it play ok on my European PAL PS3/TV (don't yet have a HDTV)?? Anyone know???

sendit.com, based in Belfast (therefore no VAT/import problems) have both PS3 games and BluRay movies at very reasonable prices.

    c. €60 for games and from around €20 for movies.

The game I buy with my PS3 will be the last I buy in a shop.

But as with anything over £18.99 or something silly like €22 you run the risk of being hit for VAT.

No risk. I've never been hit before and I've bought games/dvd's/cd's from all over the world on the net. As long as it's sent in the regular post no VAT worries. Only get caught if getting something delivered via UPS or Fedex or one of them as you have to sign for it but the vast majority of websites send their stuff via ordinary mail.

I've used Play.com for a couple of years now and have never had to pay any extra than the selling price on the site.
