    Hi Guys,

Id say you guys have all seen this before, ive been googling it up and have been comming to the same conclusion. Im a prodominant pc user and was looking at testing out the mac waters, i recently got a G3 Snow out of work which hadnt been used for a while.

When i got it home i tried turning it on however it sounded like it was powering the speakers and the monitor clicked on for a second but with no picture or bootup screen, So i left the power in it overnight.

Have gone to turn it on today and finally it turned on, but the monitor didnt. I connected an external monitor to it however it didnt boot up this way either. hard disks appear to spin up but dont seem to load anything.

As i said ive been reading up however its been pointed out that there have been alot of revisions; What do i need to get replaced or is it better just to get a working unit off ebay ? Model is M5521

    Thanks in advance

Guys sorted this out, there was a button on the logic board that seems to reset everything.

    Thanks anyway :)

For future reference what you did was reset the parimeter memory aka pram.

This can also be dont by holding Command (apple) option (alt) and the letters "p" and "r" as you power the mac on, you should hear a double start up chime.

When the mac restarts it will have lost the settings stored by the pram, such as date, time, mouse speed and so on which are all easy to reset.
