I played it on the N64 and thought it was great fun. Good controls that i remember. He did slide though if you ran one direction and then did a 180 and back the way you came.

Haven't played it on the VC, but on the N64 it's one of my favourite control systems in any game on any console. A mate of mine disgrees, reckons the pad is crap but he just never gave it a chance.
One of the few games that gave me that warm fuzzy excited feeling after I got past the age of twelve...

It has the best 3D-3rd-person control system I've ever played!

Better than Zelda anyway...
