My Dad and I booked a short trip to Normandy last night, going on Sunday morning and coming back Wednesday evening. I stupidly forgot to check the time of the Irish match, and now I see we'll be over there for it.

We're staying in Bayeux. Does anyone know if we will be able to watch the match over there? It's either change the flights and pay more now, or keep the flights and try and find somewhere over there to watch it.

    Anyone know?

    Cheers.

I found the Leinster Edinburgh game in Santa Monica California at 9am, I think you will find a 6N game on in France!!

Many pubs here will show every game and Im sure it will be the very same there.

Problem is, in Normandie, rugby ain't that popular... But I'm confident you'll find a place showing the game (although you go be going to the a$$ whole of nowhere in which case bars won't even have a TV!).

What pub(s) was that? I'm relying on a poor quality tv video stream from a friend back in Ireland - not so good.

    Ye Olde English Pub.

On Santa Monica Blvd one block from ocean on a corner. They show the 6N and they have a large crowd for that.

They have Setata US which has all the stuff that a cross of Setanta and SKy would have from here.

They show all the Prem ship and they will flick the rugger onto a private telly for to watch if its not on already. This setata seesm to have evrything you would want. With the added beauty of being in a bar in santa monica and not "insert anywhere in Ireland".

They seem to be quite big into rugby here as I found several clubs and a regular game of just turn up 15 on 15 beach tip on the beach on Sat/Suns...

    Working on green card no:cool:

I presume you mean Ye Olde King's Head? The pub... with a souvenir shop; gotta love it - run by an Irish guy I'm told.

Yeah I've seen Santa Monica RC and UCLA RC play once each. I've not seen the beach rugger though, clearly I'm just not spending enough time there :D

I'm trying to get into American football as a rugby substitute, long way to go there...

Are you living there? Are you Irish? would you mind PM ing me an e mail as I would love to talk about life/work etc there as I am currently looking into green cards etc....

Yeah you have the bar correct all right!

I too got well into the NFL during the SF play offs there. Its great to have wall to wall coverage 245/7 on the NFL channel around end of season climax time. Imagine you could stick on the rugby channel about now any time you wanted?

I must say I quite took to the game, its so technical and quite a cool game to watch on TV. May not be the best live as its so long and technical!

    many thanks
