I was with my girlfriend in Glendalough last week and we were looking out into the lough and saw something pretty far out? couldn’t make it out but it was moving slowly and bopping up to the surface every once and a while but was pretty slow in its movements... ??? I took a pic...

Be ready for nay sayers. I'd like to believe that there is something cool and true to all the 'Lough' stories, makes life more interesting tbh. :D

I've done some research on this, and the the only sensible answer is that it's an elephant crossing the lough by walking on the bottom with it's trunk up for breathing and it's head partly exposed

yea I knew people would say that but it moved really slowly which looked out of proportion with a duck or similar size animal. I have a good idea how fast a duck moves, just this seemed to be like a hippo swimming, slow and big

It could of been a duck relaxing and enjoying the day. He'd have no need to hurry.

i have to ask...but have you measured the speed at which a duck moves in comparison to this creature you witnessed? maybe he only had one leg..

but yaeh i would like to think it was real :) be nice to have something wierd happen like that

Could it be a shunkey? Half shark, half monkey.

On a slightly more serious note.. was it just the snake type thing? or is the other lump part of it too? I mean it could be a fish jumping at insects. Could be an otter or something even.
