Town Assault 4 date announced

    www.townassault.com/forums/

    Date: March 30th - April 1st
    Price: 95 Pounds Sterling

    Additional costs will apply.
Maybe if there are enough people going from Ireland we could organize a bus hire Wales-side or at the very least a convoy of rental cars :)

I was there last year- it's a blast. The site is huge, one entire village (it's the largest FIBUA training site in Europe). The pyrotechnics were awesome.

If you're into MilSim, you HAVE to attend one of these.

I'm soooooooooooooooo tempted by this its unreal but i think this falls within the time im back in college for 4weeks and i absolutley cannot get out of it or i'll be on the dole when i get back. I'll know tonight. Its only 60GBP for a car + passenger from dublin to england and 15GBP for extra passengers. driving wouldnt be a bad option either and thats what i'd be doing.

myself and two others are going. We'll be playing rebels this year (we were coalition last year). If anyone fancies joining us, this is what you'll need:
-AEG with lo-caps (suggest between 6 and 10 locaps, 1 or 2 if it's a support weapon) / Sniper Rifle with enough mags to keep you happy
    -recommend hydration bladder
    -warm sleeping bag
-foam matt (for sleeping on) // note: tents not required as we can sleep in the buildings)
    -obviously eye protection
-knee pads recommended, since it'll be a lot of concrete kneeling
-flashlights (or if you're a nutcase then NVGs)
    -nightsticks
-freeze dried food (alternatively a stop at the local supermarket can get you patched up with plenty of pot noodles)
-recommend hydration satches to add to bottled water
-poncho optional but not required (didn't need it last year, despite pissing rain)
-motorola talkabout (or similar) w/ headset
-combat vest/rig/PLCE/etc. to carry it all
-backpack/bergen to put all your kit into since rebels will be starting OUT of town and will most likely have to bring their stuff with them
-money for extra food, money for grenades, money money money

Don't listen to this treacherous rebel scum! :p
Slinking off to join the rebels indeed!

    Coalition FTW! :D

There's also a fairly large contingent going from ASI if anyone cares to join the winning team!
We may also have a minibus going, but it'll be likely via Belfast - Liverpool overnight ferry.
If we do get a minibus going, it'll likely be full though.

There's details of our battlegroup over on ASI!

Whether rebels or coalition though, as nakedhedgehog says, this is not to be missed!

We have seen the error in our ways. We will be going Coalition again this year. Give the defending aspect a go :) ("Defending?!" I hear you say. "What defending. We'll be pushing them back into that little village down the road.")

Edit: Additionally, we are now definitely going via Cork -> Pembrock
If anyone here wants to go convoy with us, let me know. We'd be sailing out on the Friday morning.

i'd say the airport will be fun, sitting on the plane and suddenly ready to fly out, then click, click click, a load of armed police around you wanting to talk to you about your luggage.

    Honestly officer they're toys,

the disadvantages of full metal berretta's and an ak.

Seriously though, any tried to bring a load of full metal guns on a plane, i could easily imagine there would be problems or even hassle getting your stuff at the other end, could see myself missing the start due to security issues,

Ok guys Im pretty much 99% sure Im gonig to this...Spitfire, you coming?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,323 ✭✭✭Spitfire666

Im not 100% sure yet. I want to go and CAN afford to go but i have to recheak the dates.
And im looking into getting a new car soon so if i get the car BEFORE pred i could be smashed.....although it'd be a nice first big spin.

Why would you go through the airport?
    Get the ferry, CONVOY?

Reason I said Cork was that myself and a friend of mine are heading there first and leaving our Cars there overnight- meeting up with another friend and driving in one car to Rosslare (plus, I also thought that the Cork-Swansea ferry was still operating, but the buggers shut it down for this year- typical).

Anyway, if anyone else is going via ferry (which, unless you know someone in the UK to send your gear to, or you're going up North and that way along, is the only way you can get to the game) from Rosslare, we could meet up there and convoy the rest of the way over. Otherwise we could all just go solo as well :) Eitherway works.

Be warned though, tickets will likely go very quickly.

Wednesday it will open for 150 more.
The first 250 places were released on Sunday and have already sold out. We are now releasing the final batch of 150 places. This will be the final release of places for TA4.

The booking pages will make available these last places on Wednesday, 7th February at around 9pm.

These tickets are going faster than Justin Timberlake tickets would in a girl's secondary school, so if you want to go, I'd suggest sitting on their site at 8pm and constantly hitting refresh.
