From Hotspur: The only difference between a confidence trickster taking money from a sucker whose beliefs about the situation are erroneous and a poker player taking money from a sucker whose beliefs about their ability / the game are erroneous is...well I'll you guys fill in that yourselves.

... is that the poker player may well be the one who is mistaken, the conman KNOWS the sucker is mistaken because he is the one who fooled him.

The rules are set, there is a ref and the stakes are clearly laid out. Everyone enters the game with eyes wide open and the rules do not change during the game nor do they inherently favour one player over another.

    Now, you were saying.... ?

    DeV.

Arthur Daly was an upstanding member of the 2nd hand car sales business. I resent the comparison sir! Now, where's my sheepskin!
