I'm interested in getting a set of four 2000 mAh AA Sanyo Eneloop batteries for my camera, but am having difficulty finding them. There's loads on ebay but most of them are in Hong Kong and are probably fake. Where can I buy some, either online or local shops?

    Thanks.

I've been wondering the same myself.
Is there a decent place to get them online that'll ship to Ireland?

I can only recommend them! Use them in my SB 400 flash and in my pocket camera, and they are just brilliant. Got them on ebay from HK, no problems so far.

Check dealextreme.com and search for GP Recyko+.
They are the same as the eneloops. I use them for everything.

I bought some here and they are genuine. http://batterycity.ie/

I've bought some stuff off these guys, based in Denmark

    http://www.batterycity.ie/sanyo_eneloop-c-410.html?osCsid=0abc2831bb9ad74b90c452c8d58e749f

I have no idea how the price compares to ebay.

I bought loads of batteries off of eurobatteries but they have since been taken over and I have no idea what they are like now, they do the hybrio

    Good site that is.
Been wondering how legit it is though. The design reminds me of some of the scammer sites out there.

Think I'll order a couple of sets of Eneloops off them tomorrow.

How have ye found the discharge factor on them?
Regular Nimh's have been a nightmare for me.

What's the delivery time for BatteryCity.ie like?
If I order now would I be likely to have them by tomorrow week?

They're hybrid NiMH batteries. They don't discharge as quickly.
Normal NiMH batteries can offer up to around 3000mAh of juice but will discharge in a matter of a few weeks even when not in use. Hybrids discharge over about a year. It makes them great for portable electronics as you don't have to worry about the battery dying when you don't use it for longish periods.
As a result they often last a bit longer in use than standard NiMHs as a 2100 Hybrid will have more charge available than say a 2800 standard NiMH due to reduced losses.

NiMH batteries are also great for speedlites as the high mAh (milli Amp hour) means you get faster recycle times than other batteries.

QVC the shopping channel had an offer on them last night, maybe if you check out there web site.

I noticed yesterday that Dunnes are stocking the GP Recyko+ batteries.
€14.99 for 4xAA, which is alright when the Eneloop's are a fiver more.

Never heard of GP Recyko+. I had a look at them here:

    http://www.gprecyko.com/en/charger_pack.html

They look good... (if that counts for anything) Any one tried them?

@€;14.99 does that include a charger?

No, but they work with any standard battery charger afaik.
They also have them with a charger, but I'm not sure of the price.

Maplin have a pack of 4 Hybrid Uniross AAs for £4.99 on their webisite, add ripoff republic tax to that and its still pretty good.

Bought a set of the GP Recyko+ batteries.
They worked out box so that's one benefit anyway.
I look forward to seeing how they cope during my holiday in New York next week.

    Hi, I get mine from www.radionics.ie -
    link :
    http://radionics.rs-online.com/web/search/searchBrowseAction.html?method=searchProducts&searchTerm=enloop&x=0&y=0

Always seems to be loads available, price not bad and €4.40 for delivery.
They accept credit cards and you can ring them to order if you want.
By the way I have found enloops brilliant - have used them in a canon speedlite flash and a led torch for cycling , they seem to last forever, the battery equivlent of willie wonka's everylasting gobstopper!!!:D

Pretty pricey when you compare the 4xAA for €14.59 on Radionics to the 8xAA for €17 on Batterycity (shipping being 40c more expensive)

Very good price that on battery city - I thought that approx €14 was the average price for 4 AA's.
Will take note for the future - Thanks.

Welcome to a new decade :)

Duracell Pre-Charged/Stay-Charged 2000mAh that are labeled "Made in Japan" are
re-badged Sanyo Eneloops. They are easy enough to find. Tesco have them, but
    the price is quite high.

Some independent tests rate Panasonic Infinium AA cells as
slightly better than Eneloop. Mine were still working well after a
    year in my Canon flash.
