I'm getting a Ryanair flight to Charleroi this weekend, I know there is a coach from the airport into Brussels which leaves you at the Midi Station, had anybody any idea how far the Midi Station is from the Grand Palace and is it walkable?

I know it's probably mad money but how much is taxi likely to cost from Charleroi to the Grand Palace?

It has been about 2 year since we were there and we got a minibus service that we booked in advance. I don't remember but think it was in the region of 20 euro each.

I quite often do this from airports that are out of the way and usually find them by googling "limo service [insert airport name here]"

Brussels Midi is in the middle of some horrible industrial area, I made the mistake of getting that coach bus once.

Just get the bus that goes to the Charleroi train station, and get a train to Brussels from there (Brussels Central this time). It's quicker, more comfortable, and the train station is just next to the Grand Place.

You can even get a combined bus+train journey ticket from Ryanair, at the plane or when you land from their desk. This used to be 9 euro but I'm sure it's gone up a little bit. It's well worth it, I'd advise you get one for the return journey. I didn't and ended up paying twice that for the train back alone.
