3V vouchers for pre-booking hostels?

    Hey folks,

I'm going interrailing at the end of June for a month, and I've been thinking that it'd be handy to have a credit card to pre-book the odd hostel (not every one of them, mind you), but I don't really want to carry a credit card around with me or I'll be constantly worrying about it.

I was thinking that I could just get a 3v voucher worth a couple of hundred maybe, and then use that to book them the night before if I feel so inclined.

Anyone got experience using them for this sort of thing? Ever have any trouble?

I presume I'd be using hostelworld.com or some similar site to book them.

    [sings]There may be trouble ahead[/sings] :)

All will be fine in that you will be able to book online ok, but if they ask to see said card you will be in stuck. You will probably need to pay them in cash on the night.
