    Fitz tonight:

Stacks: Me 80, Villain has me well covered.

Have seen about 5 hands so far, only been at the table 15 mins so no reads.

Pick up AsKs in late enough position. I raise to 10. Get around 3 callers.

    Flop comes: K 8 10, two spades.

Villian raises to around 45, all other players fold and I re-raise all in. He calls, blanks on turn and river.

He shows pocket 8's and takes it down.

Was the all-in the best move or should I have played it differently and if so, how?

    Cheers,
    ish.

EDIT: Title should read PL, not NL.

Looks Standard enough. I'd certainly want to get the rest of my money in the middle in this situation against one opponent (who you have no read on)

If possible, raise more preflop. If you're in late position in the fitz 50 holdem game there are usually enough limpers for you to make it 15 or so. Do that. you have a great hand in position, you want as more money in the pot.

The villian's bet on the flop could mean anything. You have a strong hand and (effectively) a tiny stack, tank it in now.

You were destined to lose this hand I think, but if you were both much deeper you would play it differently and might have gotten away from it. the lesson is to never sit with only 40BB in cash game.

I personally think that if you haven't got at least 500 to play this game with in any given session you probably shouldn't be playing this game. I think 10k is a good bankroll for the 50HE in the fitz.

You didn't do much wrong, just got cold-decked.

i think that 200 is fine for this game.

Raise more pf. you're so short there's no real play other than shoving, buy-in deeper next time.

you did nothing wrong - ideally raise more preflop but that has no bearing on how this hand played out as I suspect that wether you raised to 10 or 15 the guy with 88 was coming along for the ride anyway. 200 is fine for a buyin for this game btw.

I take it that marq means 500 to allow for top-ups...not buying in for that amount.

you think correct. I buy in for 200 myself. and am often in for 500-1000.
