Going to Barcelona next week and was looking at the baggage restrictions, only taking carry on. How strict are they on the with the 100mls limit? Noting comes in sizes smaller than 100mls, its a bit stupid. Also if i have a 150ml container and only have 50mls in it would that be ok?

I've flown a couple of times since December and have had the following loose in my hand luggage: vaseline lip balm, hand moisturiser, spray deoderant and can of coke. I've not been pulled up on any of them but have realised after getting on the plane or even getting home that I'd forgotten to pull them out (that damn can of coke would have been handy to have remembered on the flight)..

So anyway to answer your question: you may get away with a 150ml container and you may not. If you need containers you can get them at boots, camping stores, muji and the like.

Went through Dublin Airport last week and security was very strict!

I guess there's always the chance you're not spot-checked, but if you're only bringing carry-on then you need to be sure not to bring something you can't do without if it's confiscated or that you can't just replace when you get there.

Also, if you do have a 150ml bottle that obviously contains less than 100ml, you can keep it! It's the amount of liquid that's restricted, not the size of the container.

if the container is non matalic you can always have it in your pocket as you walk through the metal detector
