At the moment I have a ipod nano 4gb. I want to upgrade to a bigger memory that will have a better battery life and will be able to play movies. I like the ipod because of itunes, you know the way when you play something it adds it straight to the itunes libary, and then syncs to the ipod straight away when its connected. Thats what I like about it. So can someone recommend me a good buy? It would have to have a good battery life also. And if it is a creative for example, would i be able to get software simular to itunes for it, as I have explained above. Thanks in advance;) .

What's wrong then with a bigger iPod? The iTunes software is very convenient alright so switching will mean learning something else.

Ahh yeah I know, but the battery life on my nano isn't great. Would the bigger ipod not be as bad, sure it would use up a lot of battery with the video function wouldn't it?

they all use a lot of battery with video on. The battery on the large iPods lasts about 20 hours with normal playback but playing videos would drop that down to 6.5 hours (according to Apple). The Creative Zen Vision claims just 5 hours with video playback. The screen size on both is the same. Archos do a player also that has claimed 5 hours video playback but the screen on that is significantly bigger, roughly going from two and a half inches to just under four and a half inches ...

So, video function just will cost you battery life, no matter what player you pick. Your choice should be more about what you really want to do with the player in the end and what functions are the most important: eg the large screen on the Archos for video or the easy manageability of stuff on the iPods etc.

Which version of the Nano do you have? The first gen or second gen? The first struggled to get 15 hours, whereas the second gen will give you a comfortable 22-24. You could just upgrade to the 8gb nano.

The only thing comparable to that would be the cowan iaudio x5 I think, though I'm not sure, and it definately doesn't play nice with itunes.

I have a first gen ipod. But the thing is that I don't want to pay out more money for something I already have, if you know what Im saying. If I bought the second gen nano, it would only as you said be an upgrade.
