setting up multi-player DS Advance Wars Dual Strike

Silly question maybe - I am gonna get my godson a birthday present of Advance Wars Dual Strike for his DS. His brother also has a DS and i heard that this game is excellent in multiplayer so i would get two copies if they could play against each other.

However, they dont have a wireless router so my question is: can you get 2 DSs talking to each other like an ad-hoc network, or would you need a wireless router? And if ad-hoc would work, is it easy to set up? has anyone else tried this?

I know this game is turn-based so they could pass-and-play using one DS and one copy of the game (so I read in a review), but if setting up an ad-hoc network with the 2 DSs they have now would work and be easy to set up I would prefer that...

    Thanks.

Never tried myself, but this is my impression~

You dont need a wireless router afaics. Guide here:

and you can also download the new real-time "combat" action game to any unfortunate DS owners who don't have the game.

Just FYI, never played this version, but played the GBA version. I thought it was pretty tough game to play. Too much strategy to be fun.

You don't need a router to play against another DS (you only need router/internet for internet play).
DS to DS is Ad-Hoc Network
