Apologies if this has been covered before. I have bought my first laptop on which I have installed Media Monkey to keep track of my music. My iPod had a lot of music on it from my desktop computer transferred via iTunes. I somehow managed to wipe everything off the iPod the other night! Not really a problem as I still have the files but I really don't want to go down the iTunes road again. What is the best way of transferring my iTunes library from my desktop onto my laptop so I can play my files via Media Monkey? Is it possible to transfer onto a memory stick and do it that way? If I were to burn onto cd I'd be there for a year! Any suggestions?

This should be easy enough. If you can use your laptop as an external hard drive hook it up the computer and transfer the files that way. Failing that load up your ipod again. Upload itunes to your Laptop, connect the ipod and transfer your songs over. If you need further instructions i will be happy to help.

Thanks for that. I don't want to use iTunes as I'm using Media Monkey on the laptop. Can I transfer from the desktop to Windows Media on the laptop and then import them into Media Monkey? Will iTunes allow me to transfer this way or do I just move the whole iTunes folder?

This will work too. Just tried it out today. It's an updated PodUtil.

Thanks for the help but the problem is that the music is gone from my iPod but still in itunes. I want to get it from itunes on my desktop to Widows Media on my laptop. I bought a cable to transfer files between computers but am a bit scared that I'll wipe everyting from the desktop and it won't transfer onto the laptop! When I now plug my iPod into the desktop itunes doesn't recognise it anymore. It has 8g of music transfered from my laptop on it which I don't want to lose. Any ideas? I just want to get rid of itunes alltogether.
