Has anyone seen the new charges from NTL?

If you dont pay your bill by Direct Debt they will charge you extra.

i was just on to them about it today. this is what happened to me.

i have the basic cable and bb with them. in november i had a problem with my bb and when i called them they said i wasnt set up with it on there system. so they said they would set me up. called again in december with another problem and they said i wasnt set up! so they said they would again. anyway, last week i called again with a problem and same story! then the bills arrive. i always paid 114 euro every two months. i get a bill first week in jan saying i owe 28 euro. no mention of my bb on the bill. i called and told them again that i had it. the next day they call me and say "great news, we have bb in your area now, would you like it???" its in my area years. i could have screamed. my husband has now said shag them. yesterday i get another bill to say i am in creait 70 euro. today i get a call from my bank to say that ntl have tried to take a dd of 155 euro from my account. was that ok? i said no way. he said he was calling as they have gotten a load of these requests in from ntl and the customers havent requested to go dd.

they also have me down as paying with "giro". there new system changed a lot of people over to this so then they are charging them a 2 euro fee as apparently thats what the post office charge ntl for payments made in there.

i am thinking of closing my account with them and changing over to sky/eircom.

I strongly dislike sky and was always quite pro NTL. Then UPC started doing things. I am now strongly considering Smart and Sky.
