    Hi,
I am looking to extract the embedded map in this PFD. I know I probably shouldn't but where's the fun in that :D A free beer (via paypal) for the winner!

    Nice one,

    Cathal

I need the street plan scalable in a pdf without the colours behind it. I can crop the other rubbish around the edges in Acrobat but the 3 colour layers seem fixed no matter what I try...

Adobe Illustrator does the job (in fact I'm looking at the result right now!). Just select and delete the coloured areas (they're not layers, but filled polygons) and any other objects you don't want and re-save as a PDF. Photoshop won't work as you want, since it converts to a raster format first.

Good tip! Don't have Illustrator on this machine so I never thought of that.

No bother .. never used PayPal, so I'll just take a bit of karma instead (I could do with some!). BTW, make sure when you delete the polygons to not only delete the fill, but also the polygon itself .. the outline appears very faint when you're zoomed out and can easily be overlooked. Good Luck!
