Windscreen dilemma

    My windscreen with rain sensors got smashed.The insurance co. will cover replacement if I use their authorised repairers. I wonder how that will affect my warranty since going to the dealers will cost a fortune.

    That's standard practice, most insurers do that. The bonus is that you usually don't have to pay the repairer (as opposed to having to pay the repairer first and get your money back from the insurer later)

    I can't see how it would affect your warranty. You should be fine

    I had the same thing happen to me in a 3 month old VW Bora with rain sensors .. got it fixed at the insurance company's authorized glass repair place, no bother. the sensor even worked afterward :D I have to say I didn't even think about the warranty issue TBH.

    Thanks. Insurance co. called out autoglass and windscreen replaced under 30 mins at no cost to me.Eagerly awaiting the rains
