P60 and Umbrella companies

I've been working under an "umbrella" company for the past 6 months. I am currently in the process of getting my tax repayment assessed by the Revenue Commissioners for the past 5 years and they have asked me for my P60 for last year.

Normally I got my P60 from my employer, can anyone tell me where I would get it now ?

    Many Thanks
    K

You will also get it from the umbrella entity or the accountant who take care of you and made the payments to you.
Give them a quick call to make sure they will send it to you in February.

And umbrella sucks anyway. Managed companies is a much better way to go.

Thanks for that, I found out the hard way about Umbrella companies. When I finish my current contract in March I'll be going the managed route.

Yeah with a managed company you are director and everything is managed by the accountancy agency.
As a director you can expense 15% of your rent/Electricity and Gaz bills.
In my case over 200 euros a month which are refunded to me.

Plus Internet connection, phone, hosting, training, books, computer parts and so are also refunded. Petrol if you are going to different locations everyday can also be refunded. If you are going to the same rempote location everyday you can not really claoim petrol back, but public transport yes.

I personally claim back around 700-800 euros every month. And I have been told by some of my friends this was not enough lol.

Who are you using for your managed company ?. I currently with CxC in Cork and I find them a bit shifty to say the least.

    Yeah me too

I would not say shifty but sure what they provide is expensive and really basic. You do not have much flexibility with them, but this is far better than an umbrella company as you can claim lots of things back.

At least the good thing is that you do nothing with them. They do all the paper work.
But I found myself having new needs with my current projects and the best way to go for me is to go with my own Limited and continue to provide my consultancy services and other stuffs in a more effective way.
