hi, i just recently began playing poker and stumbled across betfair. How does that rate among the sites? can anyone recommend a better site? or are they much the same just different vendors/competitors?

Yeah, if you like the software then its grand.
A lot of people here play on Tribeca network.

Pokerstars is meant to have good (ie. slow) tournament structures.
