    Hi,
I'm in a similar position to connundrum, except it's handball I'm interested in. I'm an old man of 37 but it looks like a brilliant game and good exercise.
There is a club near me but they only have two courts (one 40x20 and one 60x30) so I guess they get booked up pretty quickly.
Is it a fairly simple game to get the hang of? Bear in mind I've never played squash or any similar games...

    Thanks for any advice!

surely you could always find a wall at the end of some gable, and get a few mates or on your own and knock it against the wall. least ya will have good practice before ya get a chance to book a palying area. i suppose as far as fitness is concern, i am sure you know yourself, make sure ya do a few streches and warm up before any particapation of sports (after all ya dont wanna be going into work the next day all cramped)

i am not sure really of the rules, but as far as i know there are easy , i think line is drawn some distance away from wall, and ya hit it da ball hard or in a certain direcion so the opponent wont get it.others will fill ya in. never thought how much fun it can be though

a great game, easy to play, very difficult to master. you should have no bother picking it up and enjoying it, if you could find someone of similar novice to yourself to play with regularly you would have great time. there are competions of all grades at all levels if you even wanted to go that far.good luck!!
