    As the title suggets...!!!!

Mine would be AP which is fairly obvious. He is great in a finish and never gives up so when you back the horse he is on you know you'll get a run for your money.

Also like Timmy Murphy for the patient rides he gives horses, seems to be a master at it. Whether for Pipe or Knight he plays a good waiting game and judges the pace of a race perfectly.

can't argue with AP. value for money. I also like choc thornton for some reason! can't figure out why.
fallon on the flat for me.

Keiron Fallon, though due to recent events that's hard to justify

Ruby Walsh- he and Nicholls are awesome together. Ruby can get so much more out of a horse than most jockeys and his waiting game is better than any.

Seconded. The man is an artist in the saddle, absolutely sublime. He is one of the most complete jockeys I've ever seen. I admire AP for his achievements, but I would want Ruby on any horse of mine.

On the Flat, I'd agree with Ziggy about Steve Cauthen. He achieved so much at the highest level on both sides of the Atlantic, and for judgement of pace from the front he was second to none.

    jump jockeys -

personally i wouldnt have mccoy up on a horse i owned

reason-when he was with pipe and johnson it was like a holy trinity -but the horses where so rigourously trained coupled with the fact that mccoy belted the shi t out of them and done anything to win the horses rarely lasted more than two seasons -i know it was just the way they operated thier busineess and it worked out for them racing wise but for that reason i wouldnt put him up on 1 of mine -i would seek longevity which is why i would pick timmy over ap -the holy trinity spent years winning races worth 2 grand which is why mccoy wasnt at the top of the tree money wise -check the stats all the other jocks were earning more for winning less races but they were high value races -

in ireland one of the most underrated jockeys come horsemen is ken whelan -doesnt get the opertunitys to shine but that might change soon

    flat jocks -

not a fan of flat but in recent years kieran fallon -master of his art and presumed inocent untill proven guilty so that will do for me for now anyway

lester equals legend -the only thing i have in common with him is the taxman chasing me lol

mixed feelings on pat eddery-used to ride to win but it seemed he would never ride for a place if knowing he was beat but always enjoyed watching him

At the moment Ruby Walsh is in a league of his own imo, hes so good at getting a horse to travel and into a nice rhythm. i used to really like Norman Williamson when he was riding.

Its a valid point above about the Pipe yard prize money, imo they used to go for quantity over quality, at sedgefield and taunton on a Tuesday and Wednesday back Pipe, come the big races on a Saturday and the festivals Pipe had no top class ammunition at all.

Knighted to say that McCoy beats the sh** out of horses is untrue- McCoy has to abide by the same whip rules as any other jockey (13 times per race

didnt mean he over whips them he (used to )beat the shi t out of them by pushing too hard and too aggressive -it was down to his compeditive nature plus riding instructions -look at the falls he has had by pushing into a fence -at cheltenham 4 yrs ago the joke going around the course was that mccoy brought his own ambulance with him he was in it that much over the 3 days-

do u think now that he rides for jp he would get away with the same riding style on a better class of horse -i think not but it is only my opinion and i did say at the start i wouldnt put him up on one of mine

Has the be the one and only Ruby. Gets every inch out of a horse and just picked up his hundred winner at home this season.
For the flat racing it has to be Mick Kinane. The older he gets the better he gets.A P O'Brian and Kinane-could never go wrong!

    Lester.. ice in his veins.
Yves St Martin... stylish as it gets
Braulio Baeza... if nothing else, for the riding lesson he gave them that day on Roberto in the Benson and Hedges.

I think Pipe is the third most successful trainer in Cheltenham Festival history. I could be wrong, he could be second to Fulke Walwyn.

    2 Champion Hurdles
    4 Arkles
    2 Sun Alliance CHases
    2 Supremes
    2 Sun Alliance Hurdles
    2 Stayers

Fulke Walwyn is number one, with 40 festival winners.

Gun Smith in the last at Ludlow another example of the McCoy factor.

for me my favourite jockey is ruby walsh just cas wenever hes on a horse i know that if the horse will always finish where it should without a stupid jockey blunder. the best jockey for me is ap because wenever he holds a horse up you know that it always comes through the field at the right time and if the horse should win the race it will. that for me is a brilliant jockey.
