Norton Stopping Internet

    when I have Norton enabled web pages wont connect only happening the last while, I changed the settings to block traffic and allow just to see but neither works. it's Norton Internet security 2006. Anyone have any ideas whats going on? once i disable Norton i can access web pages fine.

    Step1: Uninstall Norton.
    Step2: Start a fire.
    Step3: Place your Nortons cd in this fire.
    Step4: Install AVG Free

    AVG Anti-virus has a free edition available, yes it is totally free. Direct link to installation. You will want a firewall also, like Zone Alarm, Outpost or Comodo (one I am using). They have free editions too.

    If you keep the windows firewall up to date its more than up to the job.
    Ye AVG is free and 10 times the program nortons is :].

    Zone Alarm can be picky at times (as what to connect to the internet even though you choose which applications to allow) so give yourself time to get used to it and you are safe. Have you got Windows Firewall enabled?

    I tried both zone alarm and comodo firewalls, both kept restricting my net access, so I unistalled both and am just keeping with windows firewall.
