VW Instrument Cluster Repair Required

    Hi,
    I need a fuel gauge repaired on a VW Golf Cabriolet instrument cluster. This model shares the same instrument cluster as a MK3 Golf.

    My gauge reads half full regardless of the tank level. I have swopped out the existing clock with a loaner set and the gauge works perfect.

    Is there anyone out there that does these types of repairs?

    I remember asking Hamiltons auto electricians this last year, and they said that they had a guy who specialissed in instrument clusters. Their number is 01-4755157. They're in D8, I found them cheap, courteous and efficient.

    Why not just go to a scrappy and find a new cluster set? Probably be cheaper than paying someon the labour of looking at it

    It is an unusual MK3 Clock in that it is colour matched in the Golf Mk4 Blue to the radio. Also it has MFA functions.

    Could it be a dodgy fuel level sensor?

    There used to be a place in Blessington Street in Dublin called Carclocks (iirc). They used to repair all sorts of dash clusters. I don't know if they are still there, but look them up. I'll check into it once I'm in work tomorrow.
