Any Hopes / Ideas For Wii Unique Games?

Just wondering, does anyone know of or have any ideas for what type of games would be fun and utilise the wiimote / nunchuk controllers?

I ask cos I was thinking a snooker or pool game could be really really cool. And a light-sabre duelling game *must* be around the corner :)

To be honest, what I really want are deep games. There's no need to shoehorn everything into using the Wiimote and Nunchuck. Some of the best DS games don't really use the stylus. Some games use it very well.

I'd like to see some point and click adventures, along the lines of the Monkey Island games. Would work very well on the system. (hint - Nintendo - one disk ScummVM compilation please).

I'd like to see some Rhythm Action games, either along the lines of Gitaroo Man or Ouendan, or a Bemani type game. I think these could work well with the Wii controllers.

I know its still early days, I have full faith in Nintendo's first party stuff, I'm just looking forward to hearing about the 3rd parry stuff.

Spooky... Before I opened up the thread I thought of the pool/snooker game. That would be class

Good call. A drumming game (or even mini-game) would have great potential.

I agree with what you said about having faith in Nintendo; I feel the same way. Moreso, in fact, than I would about Sony or Microsoft. Myself and a friend were saying how great it would be to see the SCUMM engine running on a Wii. Either a compilation or perhaps as a VC release.

When I saw the wii remote first I thought it'd work great for that kinda thing! Hell, I imagine you could get most ScummVM games on a single disc and still have over half the disc space left!

There is a drumming minigame on Wii Music. Don't know when that's coming out though.

I thought a cool idea would be a kind of FPS Time Crisis Puncher where moving is auto and you use the remote to punch people...

but as someone else said, a pool/snooker game would be great!

One of the Wii ads had a guy drumming using 2 wiimotes, so something must be on the way...

Having looked at this vid for a student project called Bomberman Evolved, it got me thinking about a Wii version.... the possibilities are pretty cool when you think about it (squatting, lobbing, rolling...)

Now that I would buy day of release TmB, great idea!

I'm another one eagerly anticipating a light-sabre game and would also love a proper Iaido game (sure Red Steel has swords but only as a 'side-game').

Isn't ScummVM now freeware? I know Beneath a Steel Sky and a number of other games were released to public domain for it so a port would be cheap for Nintendo to produce (which I hope would be reflected in the price) and so would seem very likely to me.

 hmmm would be cool if Nintendo produced sensored leg straps for fighting games. Keeping in the sports area.. Olympic games could also be great.

    I am hooked on Wiisports.. it's class!!!:D

I was thinking the same, but of ways to adapt the existing nunchuk + remote to fighting games. Wii Boxing is a great laugh (and hoo-doggy does it knacker you!), but something along the lines of a Road Rash port would be great: Use nunchuk for driving, wiimote for belting other bikers across the skull :D

well I have been wondering if any football games will be released, strap the wiimote to ur shin/foot and off ya go

there is a pool game in WiiPlay, surprised no-one else has mentioned it, I don't particularly like it at all but guess a dedicated snooker/pool game could make some vast improvements to this

I found the control on Wii Play's Billiards mode to be a little awkward at times, and friends of mine have had awful trouble trying to use it, i'm not sure if that's their fault or the games, tbh.
